Through this partnership, all musicians, music industry representatives, and cultural sector workers who are residents of the State of Louisiana will receive a reduced rate of fifty percent off the current registration fees to attend the 32nd annual Folk Alliance International conference taking place January 22-26, 2020, at the Sheraton New Orleans. Any Louisiana resident who registered at the standard rate prior to this announcement will be refunded and notified by email. The four-day conference draws over 2900 delegates from 46 countries. Delegates include artists, agents, managers, labels, media, and venues/festival bookers. The event features industry panels,180 juried Official Showcases, thousands of private showcase performances, the Louis Jay Meyers Music Camp, the International Folk Music Awards, community outreach, and an Artist in Residence program. The 2020 conference theme of The Story of People and Place will explore issues of diversity, equity, and inclusion, and address topics of immigration, intersection, and influence.
A platform for luminaries and rising stars, FAI’s Official Showcases promote a wide array of folk genres including Appalachian, Americana, Bluegrass, Blues, Cajun, Celtic, Francophone, Global Roots, Hip-Hop, Indie-Folk, Indigenous, Latin, Old-Time, Singer-Songwriter, Spoken Word, Traditional, Zydeco, and every imaginable fusion.
The Office of Cultural Development serves the citizens of Louisiana by preserving, supporting, developing and promoting Louisiana culture, including archaeology, arts, French language, and historic places.
The mission of the Atchafalaya National Heritage Area is to build understanding and identity, raising local, regional, and national awareness of the Atchafalaya region; to strengthen the fabric of the place; to expand economic opportunities, and to increase the community collaboration and involvement within the parishes that constitute the heritage area while supporting a healthier Atchafalaya ecosystem and enhancing natural resource-based recreation opportunities.

Louisiana International Music Exchange (LIME):
LIME (Louisiana International Music Exchange) is a free, private music industry event that includes informational panels, music showcases and a networking opportunity that no musician should miss out on. LIME’s mission is to connect Acadiana musicians with prominent music presenters and talent buyers from around the world to ultimately showcase Lafayette’s music scene.
Festival International seeks to help Louisiana talent reach global audiences and extend knowledge about the music industry. Bands should bring CDs and business cards with them, as LIME 2019 will be introducing them to music buyers from some of the world’s best festivals and events!
